The Discover Owasippe Program offers exciting and adventurous programs for Scouts of varying ages. Programs operate daily, weather permitting. Registration and fee payment is done upon check-in on Sunday on a first come, first serve basis


NAGEL COPE BASE

Climb, swing, balance and rappel through the Owasippe Challenge. First on the low course, learn teamwork, communication, and leadership through a variety of problem-solving activities such as the trust fall and the Nitro Crossing. Then take the high course challenge of the High Ropes Course, pushing yourself to your personal limit 35 feet above the ground. The program is staffed by certified instructors who monitor the safety of all participants at all times.

DIAMOND O RANCH


ASTRONOMY OUTPOST

Learn how to operate a telescope and discover the lengends of summer constellations. Complete astronomy merit badge while studying the spectacluar skies of Owasippe. This program is offered nightly.

FISHING OUTPOST

Better known as "Hawg Heaven" fish Lake Wolverine, famous for its Bluegill and Bass. Learn about lures and fishing from Owasippe's master fisherman. Complete the requirements for Fishing merit badge


PHOTOGRAPHY OUTPOST

Learn how to use a 35-mm camera on a safari through Owasippe. Develop and enlarge your photos. Complete the requirements for Photograhy merit badge.

FOSSETT SAILING BASE

Visit the Fossett Sailing Base, located on Big Blue Lake and learn how to small-boat sail on a Sunfish or Aquafin. Come for open sailing or complete Small-Boat Sailing merit badge.

TUBING OUTPOST

Journey to Northern Michigan's most extraordinary tubing adventure. Drift down the White River in a magnificent natural setting.

WHITE RIVER VOYAGER

Develop and practice your canoeing skills on a Class Two river that runs right through Owasippe. Join a daily staff-guided expedition or travel with your troop for an unforgettable journey.

U.S.S. SILVERSIDES

Along with your troop, spend a night on the famous submarine, exploring its engine rooms, sleeping quarters, and other attractions. View submarine movies and keep the "hourly watch".

Leaders are invited to participate in all Discover Owasippe Programs. Leaders-only events may be scheduled at C.O.P.E., Ranch, and Fishing outpost.
